Elcomsoft Distributed Password RecoveryT gồm 3 midule chính: agent, server và console, có thể làm việc 1 cách độc lập trên các máy tính khác nhau trên mạng nội bộ hoặc là mạng toàn cầu.

Server được khởi động trên 1 trong các máy tính trong mạng. Console quản lí server đó sẽ được khởi động và kết nối với server. Nhiệm vụ của password recovery được tạo ra trên console. Sau đó phần agent sẽ kết nối với server, chuyển giao các phần việc đã làm xong (nếu như có) và nhận lại các phần của công việc tiếp theo, sau đó agent lại ngắt kết nối và bắt đầu công việc được giao. Trong 1 thời gian nhất định (trung bình 60 giây), mỗi agent sẽ kết nối lại với server để thông báo tình trạng công việc.

Server nhận nhiệm vụ từ console và phân phát đến các agent. Console được tạo ra để quản lí server và các agent đăng kí trong server. Agent được đăng kí trong server khi và nó kết nối lần đầu tiên với server.

Phiên bản không đăng kí không thể phân phát công việc cho quá 10 agent, và sẽ không kiện ra những mật mã đã được phục hồi nhưng dài hơn 4 kí tự.

The Elcomsoft Distributed Password RecoveryT is designed for distributed recovery of forgotten or lost passwords of different documents. It allows to:

ElcomSoft Distributed Password Recovery consists of three main modules: the agent, the server and the console, that can operate independently on different computers in the local or global Internet networks.
The server is started up on one of the computers in the network. On any of the computers in the network the console that manages the server is then started up and connected to the already active server. Password recovery task is created on the console. Then the previously installed and started up agents connect to their server, deliver the work done (if they have had any) and receive the next portion of work, after which they disconnect and start processing the given task. Periodically (on an average of 60 seconds), each agent connects to the server in order to report its state.
The server receives its task from the console and distributes it among the agents. The console in its turn is designed to manage the server it is connected to and the agents that are registered on the server. The agents are registered on the server when they connect to it for the first time.
An unregistered version of the program cannot distribute the task among more than 10 agents, and does not show recovered passwords that are longer than 4 characters.

Version 2.0 adds support for Windows SYSKEY startup passwords, passwords stored in Domain Cached Credentials, includes updated Adobe Acrobat module, and provides hardware acceleration (now up to 25 times faster!) for NTLM password recovery using GeForce 8 video cards (patent pending):
